Privacy Policy

Hueristic (“the app”, “we”, “us”) analyzes the color styling of an outfit in a photo and shows you a score with tips. This policy explains, in plain terms, what data the app handles and what it does not.

The short version: No account. No ads. No tracking. We don’t sell or share your data. Your photo is sent to an AI service only to generate your result, and we do not store it.

1. What the app does with your photo

When you take or choose a photo, the app:

• Resizes and compresses the image on your device.
• Sends it to our processing service (a Cloudflare Worker) which forwards it to Google’s Gemini API to analyze the outfit’s colors.
• Receives the text result (scores, a verdict, a color palette, and a tip) and shows it to you.

We do not store your photo. It is not saved in any database or server of ours; it exists only transiently while your result is being generated, and we do not use your photos for advertising or to identify you.

Your photo is sent to Google’s Gemini API only to generate your result. We use Google’s paid API tier, under which your photo is not used to train Google’s models. Google may retain it briefly for abuse monitoring and then deletes it. Google’s handling of the image is governed by Google’s own API terms and privacy policy (linked below).

Recent results you’ve seen — including the photo thumbnail — are kept only on your own device (so you can reopen them). They never leave your phone.

2. Information the app handles

• Photos you submit — used solely to generate your outfit result, as described above. Not stored by us; not linked to your identity.
• A random device identifier — a random ID generated on your device (not your Apple ID, phone number, or advertising ID). We use it only to enforce a daily usage limit and prevent abuse. It is not linked to who you are.
• IP address — like any internet service, our infrastructure (Cloudflare) sees your IP address to deliver the request. We store only a one-way hashed form of it, used solely to prevent abuse. We do not store your raw IP address.
• Anonymous result logs — we keep the text of analyses (scores, occasion labels, tips, color names) in aggregate to understand and improve the app. These logs contain no photos and no identifiers (no device ID, no IP).

We do not collect names, email addresses, contacts, location, health data, browsing history, or any account information — the app has no accounts.

3. Who we share data with

We do not sell or rent your data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. Data is processed only by the service providers that make the app work:

4. Data retention

• Photos: not retained — discarded after processing.
• Usage counters (device ID, hashed IP): reset daily.
• Anonymous result logs: retained for up to 12 months, then automatically deleted. They contain no personal identifiers.

5. Children

Hueristic is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

6. Your choices

Because we hold no account and no information that identifies you, there is nothing to log into or delete. You can stop using the app at any time; clearing recent results is done by removing the app. If you have questions or requests, contact us (below).

7. Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles data, we’ll update this page and revise the effective date above.
